I come to the end of the big adventure on the fatboy. I road a total of 6,777.9 miles in 14 days and a few hours. Some people say I see a glass half full and some say I say I see a glass half empty but I think I just see it the way it is.
I met people from all over the US and from all walks of life. I think people for the most part are good. I met people with a smile and got one in return. Kids love to wave at motorcycles and all dogs in cars wag their tails when you pass them by.
I see the frame work of all the roads in the US falling apart. Just about all the roads I traveled on are under construction, and if you speed through them your fine is doubled.
The biggest traffic jam was in Nashville, TN. and this surprised me, but the most traffic was in California. Wyoming has the most pick-ups mostly Ford F250's. Utah has the least bugs, I guess due to the salt flats. I think Iowa had the most bugs.
Women all over, are much better multi taskers than men. They can put on make-up, talk on a cell phone, and correct their kid in the back seat, all while driving down the road.
I seen Obama 08’ bumper stickers all across the US and did not see one McCaine bumper sticker.
If the speed limit is 60mph people will drive 75mph. The roads all full of cars even in places you think they would not be. People are going to drive whatever gas goes to. I know I will, if I can get it. It is just about the only time you feel free, when you’re on the road with the wind in your face.
I think after riding on route 66 that the 1950s and the 1960s had to be a good time to live. Even though you had no ac and just am radio in an M-1 tank of a car but it had to be a good ride.
I found that the Wal-mart out West had just as many buggies in the parking lot as the one here in Winston-Salem, NC.
I found that the Grand Canyon will take your breath away and you can not describe it to anyone and do it justice.
I saw the ultra rich drink wine with Mexican food, and know now why Las Vegas is sin city. Most of all, just like in the Wizard of Oz, there is no place like home, in North Carolina.
I would like to think Lisa for her web space and she does make great candles.
