Maggie's Natural Creations

        • Palm wax is grown on trees and picked rather that sown in a field and harvested, requiring much less energy and labor. The palm kernel has one of the highest oil contents of any plant, so a lot of wax can be grown in a small amount of space. Palm wax has exceptional sustainability combined with clean burn, great scent throw, and beautiful appearance.
        • Palm wax has a very beautiful and unique look, throws fragrance incredibly well.
        • Palm wax truly striking. It has a unique pattern and pearlescence that people remember.

Candle Burning Tips

Our palm pillars are made from all Natural sustainable and non-genetically modified Palm Wax. We use several different palm waxes to create a unique custom blend. The palm wax heated to a certain temperature and allowed to cool slowly is what produces the wonderful starburst/feathered effects. To ensure a long burn-time for your pillars, you must follow these specific instructions to avoid leaking wax or tunneling (note these instructions are relevant for ALL pillar candles - because ALL pillar candles will leak or tunnel if not burned properly).

• Remove all packaging before lighting the candle; place candle on an even surface on a candle plate or appropriate holder sized at least 1/2" larger than the diameter of the candle.

• When lighting the candle for the first time, burn until the wax pool reaches no less than 1/2" from the candle’s edge. This will take several hours (3-4) and help to prevent leaking by building a strong shell around the candle's perimeter. Then immediately extinguish the flame and allow candle to harden before relighting. If you do not allow the candle to burn to the edge as described above for the first burn, you will have created a "tunnel" and chances are your candle will continue to burn in this pattern.

• Each time you light the candle, always make sure the wick is pointed straight up to ensure even burning on all sides. Even while it is burning, you can straighten it by taking a metal object (a screw driver or long nail) and just straighten it. Check it every hour.

• For best results, burn the candle at a minimum for one hour per inch diameter at a time (e.g. for a 3" diameter pillar, burn for a maximum 3 hour intervals.)

• No need to trim the wick as we use self-trimming wicks, however, you may have to trim off the "mushroom" that develops after a long burn time.

• Each time you light the candle, make sure it burns long enough for the wax pool to be filled to the edge you created during the first burn. Otherwise, you will create a tunnel that will eventually extinguish your wick.

• Keep the burning candle away from drafts. This causes uneven burning and eventually will cause your shell to leak.

• Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains.

And finally, if your candle does leak, simply blow it out, let it harden and relight.

NOTE: If your candle leaks and spills over your candle plate, you can remove the wax one of two ways:

- Either scrape it off (w/ plastic scraper) after it hardens assuming the surface won't be damaged by the scraping.

- Or use a blow dryer to melt the wax and wipe it up.
